LVL 1: FUNDAMENTALS OF YIN YOGA (40 hrs)
This 40hr foundational course spread over 2 weekends will focus primarily on the physical and energetic effects of Yin Yoga. The aim of this intensive is to help you learn how and why to practice Yin yoga so that you will feel confident and creative in a home practice and, for yoga teachers, equip you to teach Yin in either a group class or a private one-to-one setting.

LVL 2: DEVELOPING THE INNER LIFE (40 hrs)
5-day residential retreat at Gravito Healing & Retreat Centre in Portugal
Level II will focus on the subtle body and psychological realms. Once we are grounded in the physical practice and have created a foundation of steadiness and concentration we can start to turn the Yin postures into opportunities for deeper meditative states using them as a vehicle to generate insight, increase emotional awareness and engage in mind training.
Topics will include:
- Anatomy of the subtle body
- Pranayama, Mantra and the Voice
- Meditation (from Shamatha to Vipassana)
- Mind training/compassion practices
- Buddha Dharma
- Psychospiritual inquiry
- Your role as a teacher/guide
- Dinacharya (daily routine) and lifestyle in accordance with Ayurvedic philosophy
LVL 2: PREREQUISITE & DATES
Dates: Fri 21 – Wed 26 June, 2019
Prerequisite: Level 1 Fundamentals – or a foundation meridian-based Yin training – and a genuine interest in Buddhism, psychospiritual inquiry and Ayurveda. Committed students who are not teachers but looking to deepen their practice for their own benefit will be welcome to apply. Application will include an interview.
Cost: £780 (Early Bird offer of £720 is due by Nov 30, 2018)
Space is limited and a non-refundable deposit of £200 is required to hold your space.
Gravito is a quiet, magical spot surrounded by forests. There is a river swimming spot on the land with a waterfall, many walking trails and a lake close by. Individual terraces each with decked and furnished tipis provide group accommodation, a large outdoor shaded platform and a big yurt is available for practice, and a barn with kitchen and dining room for meals.
